The question was asked at the 2025 Saskatchewan Roughrider’s Annual General Meeting;
“What is being done about the Plaza of Honour monument that used to be on the West side of Taylor Field?”
The answer was, “something is in the works”. And that “something”, is something else!! Undraped on Thursday, September 11th at the southeast corner of Mosaic Stadium just outside of Brandt Industries Gate 4 is the new SaskTel Plaza of Honour Cairn. People have missed this piece of Rider history and should look forward to stopping by for photos, capturing the names of former players, builders and the teams that have played a part in the history of the football club. On hand Thursday a full compliment of Riders from the past years including: Steve Mazurak, Roger Aldag, Nate Davis, Gene Makowsky and always a pleasure to see Angie Reed representing that golden age of the Riders.
Plaza of Honour weekends have held a special place for the community for decades. Many remember what it was like to be able to attend them; the pomp and circumstance of the speeches, the special guests, seeing past and current players and the fun gift items that were part of your event ticket. Those days maybe gone, but the acknowledgement of the players far out weighs what we think we are missing. Join Rider Nation on Saturday night when these three individuals will be inducted into the refreshed Plaza of Honour during half time. #GoRiders

Jeremy Molnar represents his father, Steve and the Molnar family as one of the three inductees for this year. The names etched remind generations of fans the depth and history of the club.
