LUSELAND — The Luseland Police Service’s phone lines have been unusually busy, with many concerned callers asking for clarification.
Cst. Ty Kohlman of the Luseland Police Service told SaskToday that he had received a few dozen calls from across Canada throughout the morning of Sept. 12, all with a similar question: “Did you call me?”
Those who are calling say they had received a call with the number to the Luseland Police Service, where the voice may claim to be a police officer in Saskatchewan and may proceed to ask for personal or financial information.
“Under no circumstances will our police service call you and ask for financial information. We urge the public not to provide any personal information,” said a social media post on the Luseland Police Service’s Facebook page. It continues for those who had received a call to contact the Luseland Police Service to confirm the legitimacy of the call at 306-372-4844.
