REGINA – Three people charged in the death of 53-year-old Brandon Cruspe Peji remain in custody.
Nineteen-year-old Bradley Gardiner’s matter was back in Regina Provincial Court on Sept. 22, where it was adjourned to Oct. 6. He faces charges of manslaughter and forcible confinement.
Darcy Manitopyes, also 19, is scheduled back in court on Oct. 1. He is charged with manslaughter, forcible confinement, and failing to comply with conditions of a release order. A third accused, Terrina Pelletier, 48, is scheduled back in Regina court on Oct. 3. She is charged with first-degree murder.
The charges stem from a fatal incident in July 14. At about 8 p.m. on that evening, Regina Police Service officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Fourth Ave. following a report of an injured person. When officers arrived, they found Peji deceased at the scene.
According to Peji’s obituary, he was affectionately called Brando, Andy, and Marlon by family and friends. He came to Canada from Mendez, Philippines, later bringing his family to join him.
He is remembered as a man known for his “hard work, determination and generosity.” He liked adventures, loved to sing in karaoke and enjoyed the music of Bryan Adams and Bon Jovi.
He leaves behind his wife, Rose, and their three children.
His family said they were “immensely grateful for the outpouring of love and support,” and plan to return his remains to the Philippines.
