REGINA – Two men charged in connection with a break and enter had appearances scheduled in Regina Provincial Court on Sept. 23, with their matters adjourned to Oct. 7.
Ryan Dustin Akehurst and Dallas Dale Katchan face charges of break and enter and possession of property obtained by crime. Neither man is currently in custody.
A third suspect, 39-year-old James Smith of Regina, remains at large and is wanted on a charge of break and enter.
The charges stem from an incident on April 6 when Regina Police Service officers were dispatched to a home in the zero block of Michener Drive at about 7:45 p.m. Officers responded to a report that two individuals had broken into the home and stolen an estimated $30,000 worth of trading cards and memorabilia.
Following an investigation, police identified three people believed to be connected to the theft. On April 11, a search warrant was executed at a property in the 6200 block of Dewdney Avenue, where officers recovered several stolen trading cards.
A search warrant was carried out on May 2 at a home in the 1400 block of McCarthy Boulevard. Police confirmed that additional stolen items were located at that address.
