REGINA – Four people charged in the death of 31-year-old Aron Lunan remain in custody after recent court appearances.
Patrick Akapew, 30, and Britian Volk, 24, were in Regina Provincial Court on Sept. 18 and their matters were adjourned to Oct. 1 and Oct. 6, respectively. Tyler Edwards, 38, was in court on Sept. 10 and his matter was adjourned to Sept. 30. Kayla Mitton, 37, appears in court today.
RCMP say the body of Aron Daniel Adam Lunan of Regina, was found in a rural area near Grand Coulee, Sask., around 7:25 a.m. on June 10.
RCMP Major Crimes Unit initially led the investigation, treating the death as suspicious before Regina Police Service confirmed it is a homicide.
Aron had been working with a counsellor in Regina trying to straighten out his life before his death, said his father Allan Lunan.
Described as a devoted musician and outdoorsman, Aron was known for his love of playing guitar, drums and singing, said Allan. He also shared a passion for dirt biking with his father and brother. Allan fondly recalled his son’s unwavering support, particularly during his own battle with COVID-19 in 2021.
