This week, warm temperatures have made the first few days of autumn feel more like summer. The normal high for this time of year is 15 Celsius and the normal low is zero, but the mercury has remained rather high for this time year, which has been welcomed by farmers and by all those who work outside.
September 30th saw a number of temperatures fall across the province.
Elbow reached 31.9C, breaking the old record of 30 in 1992
Last Mountain Lake sanctuary area reached 30.1, breaking the 1992 record of 29C.
Lucky Lake climbed to 31.2, up from 28.6 in 2011
Rockglen reached 30.2, breaking a 1973 record of 26.7
Watrous climbed to 31, breaking their 1992 record of 30.5
Wynyard also set a new record on Tuesday of 30.3, up from 28.8 in 1992.
Yorkton reached 29.4, breaking the record of 28.9 in 1963.
Waskesiu, Nipawin, Melfort, and Hudson Bay all set new weather records on Tuesday, as well. According to Precision Weather, temperatures will start to feel more “October-like” starting this weekend. Saturday is predicted to be sunny and 18C, Sunday will be cloudy with a high of 10C, and Monday is expected to partly sunny with a high of 12C.
