Souls Harbour Rescue Mission is asking Saskatchewan residents during this current Canada Post disruption for a bit of help. The importance of donations heading into the Thanksgiving weekend and colder weather is foremost in the minds of those that work at SHRM. Saskatchewan household dollars may be stretched to the limit with the rising cost of everything, many people working not just a single job as they try to provide food and shelter for family. For many it is finding suitable employment. This is where Souls Harbour programming has come to the aid of Regina residents. They are celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2025 and the need for their services has changed over the years. It really has been an amazing journey of growth. Not just the “soup kitchen” anymore, but a facility that includes affordable housing, daycare, a women’s addiction program, men’s emergency shelter and free clothing.
As Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, your donation is a high priority for the success of this Community Meal, which feeds up to 500 people. The donations will help supply turkey or ham and all the fixings. October 10th is the date for this meal. Volunteers and meal sponsorship can be done at anytime. Souls Harbour Rescue Mission’s Kathy Ingram is suggesting that donations on line are a great way to get involved during this time.
