REGINA – A 31-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing in the 3000 block of 1st Avenue early Sunday morning, leading to an attempted murder charge.
Regina Police Service responded to a report of a weapons offence at about 12:10 a.m. on Oct. 5. When they arrived, they found an adult male suffering from stab wounds to the neck.
Police immediately provided first-aid at the scene until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Investigators located and arrested a suspect a short time later.
As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Leroy Redwood has been charged with attempted murder and failing to comply with a release order.
Redwood is scheduled to make his first appearance on these charges in Regina Provincial Court Monday.
