REGINA — Police are investigating after a young woman waiting in a bus shelter was killed when a truck collided with it.
Shortly before noon Sunday, police were called to an area near the intersection of Dewdney Avenue and Elphinstone Street where a freight truck had left the road, striking a light post and a bus shelter. The 19-year-old victim was inside the shelter when they were struck. EMS transported the victim to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
A section of Dewdney Avenue was closed for several hours, while Regina Police Service collision investigators were on scene. At this time the roadway has re-opened to all traffic.
