SASKATOON – Update, Oct. 14, 5 p.m.: A 19-year-old man is facing charges following an investigation into a stabbing on June 16.
Police were called to the 300 block of Avenue R South for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, they located an injured male, and were made aware that another male had attended to a nearby hospital also suffering from stab wounds.
Following investigation by the SPS Serious Assault Unit, a 19-year-old man is charged with assault (x2).
Original post: June 17, 2:02 p.m.: Police are investigating following recent stabbing incidents.
At around 6:30 p.m. on June 16, police were called to the 300 block of Avenue R South for a report of an injured person. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening stab wound. A short time later, an update was received that a different man had showed up to a nearby hospital suffering from non-life-threatening stab wounds. Preliminary investigation suggests both stabbings to be related. Members of the Serious Assault Unit are continuing to investigate.
At around 11 p.m. on June 16, police were called to the 900 block of 22nd Street West for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from what was believed to be a non-life-threatening stab wound; he was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of his injury. The suspect had fled the area but police are continuing to investigate.
