REGINA — A man is facing multiple charges after a robbery involving a knife at a business on Victoria Avenue East early Thursday morning.
Police were called at around 5:10 a.m. to the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue East for a report of a weapons offence. Officers were told a man had demanded property from an employee after refusing to follow identification procedures.
The suspect allegedly revealed a knife before taking property and moving to another area of the building.
Officers arrived and located a 37-year-old man matching the suspect’s description. He was taken into custody without incident. A search led to the seizure of a large silver knife.
Further investigation revealed the man was under a probation order prohibiting him from possessing knives.
He is charged with robbery, failing to comply with a probation order, and two counts of failing to comply with a condition of an undertaking.
The accused appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Thursday afternoon.
