LEADER — Leader RCMP have charged four individuals in connection with a series of vehicle thefts and related incidents in October.
The investigation began on Oct. 5, when police received a report of a vehicle stolen overnight from a local business. The stolen vehicle was later located in the Kindersley RCMP area. Additional stolen vehicles from the Kindersley area were recovered in the Leader detachment area on Oct. 9, 10 and 12.
As a result of continued investigation Leader RCMP arrested four individuals – two on Oct. 10 in Liebenthal and two on Oct. 12 in Leader.
31-year-old woman, 32-year-old man, 40-year-old man and 47-year-old woman, all from Medicine Hat are each charged with one count, possession of break-in instruments.
40-year-old man is additionally charged with one count, theft under $5000; two additional counts, theft of a motor vehicle; one count, break entering and committing; and one count, possession of ammunition while prohibited.
47-year-old woman and 40-year-old man are each additionally charged with one count, break and entering with intent.
47-year-old woman and 32-year-old man are each additionally charged with one count, possession of property obtained by crime.
40-year-old man and 31-year-old woman are each additionally charged with one count, theft of a motor vehicle.
31-year-old woman was also charged with one count, theft of a motor vehicle.
Court appearances are scheduled over the coming weeks in Swift Current and Leader provincial courts. Police continue to investigate the incidents.
