The 2025 Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign will be front and centre next week with the lead into Remembrance Week. Governor General, Mary Simon has accepted her official poppy from the The Legion’s Dominion President, Berkley Lawrence. Saskatchewan’s Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre accepted her official poppy on Wednesday, October 29th at Government House, Regina, Saskatchewan. The official beginning of the 2025 Poppy Campaign begins on the last Friday in October. This year it is Friday, October 31st.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 001 in Regina is just one of the many Legions across Saskatchewan and Canada that will hold Remembrance Day services. Remembrance Week is filled with other events that offer a learning opportunity, fellowship, school programming and services, song and film. This very busy week is November 8th to 11th.
- The Royal Canadian Legion Regina Branch #001 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Remembrance Day Tea on Saturday, November 8th at Harmony United Church – 177 Sunset Drive from 1 to 3pm. Advance tickets $10. available by calling Cheryl Gagnon at 306 533-9419. They are also available at the door. Door Prizes, Bake Table, Raffle Table, White Elephant Table, Sandwiches and Tea.
- Remembrance Day Services will be held on Tuesday, November 11th at the Brandt Centre and seen on Access TV. There will also be a service downtown Regina at the Cenotaph. The latter being outdoors, dress accordingly. Offerings will be taken at both events with money assisting programs that the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 001 offers to veterans.

November 8th is Indigenous Veteran’s Day, November 5th to November 11th is Veterans’ Week across Canada. Stop by your local Legion Branch, volunteer, become a member, attend a service.
