NORTH BATTLEFORD — Battlefords RCMP have arrested a man after a shooting at a North Battleford home.
On Oct. 20 at approximately 1:25 a.m., Battlefords RCMP received a report of a shooting at a residence on 113 Street in North Battleford.
Officers immediately responded. The investigation determined an interaction occurred between two men at the residence. A firearm was discharged and one of the men was injured. The injured man was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious in nature. The other man was arrested at the scene.
During a subsequent search of the residence, officers located and seized a handgun, ammunition, and approximately 35 grams of cocaine.
As a result of the continued investigation, a 46-year-old man from North Battleford, is charged with:
- one count, discharge firearm with intent;
- one count, aggravated assault;
- two counts, failure to comply with release order condition; and
- one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.
The accused appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on Oct. 21.
