SASKATOON — A man has been arrested following several collisions yesterday evening.
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Oct. 29, police received a report of a hit and run in the 200 block of 33rd Street East in the Caswell Hill neighbourhood; it was reported that the vehicle was being driven at high speeds.
Within minutes, police received another report of a hit and run in the area of 33rd Street West and Avenue J North; again, the vehicle was reported to have been driven at excessive speeds.
Moments later, police received a report of a collision at the intersection of Avenue P North and 29th Street West.
As officers were attending to multiple scenes, police received a report of a suspicious person at the door of a residence in the 400 block of Avenue P North; the person’s description matched the description of the driver involved in the earlier collisions.
Officers attended to the area and located the suspect near Avenue P North and Rusholme Road; he was arrested without incident. Further investigation determined that he was believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant.
As a result, the 35-year-old Saskatoon man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, hit and run, and refusal of a demand.
