REGINA — On Sunday and Monday, residents may see an increased police presence around Sheldon Williams Collegiate, but there's no reason to be alarmed.
Recruits from the Saskatchewan Police College will be training alongside school resource officers from the Regina Police Service. The school is located on the 2600 block of Coronation Street in the Lakeview neighbourhood.
Training will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, and during that time, residents can expect to see police vehicles and officers in the area.
Regina Police Service says regular training is a crucial part of being able to respond safely and effectively in the case of a real emergency.
There is no school for students on Monday, Nov. 3, due to a teachers institute day, according to the Regina Public Schools website.
