LA LOCHE — La Loche RCMP have charged a male teenager in relation to a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in La Loche.
On Oct. 31, La Loche RCMP received a report from EMS of a collision involving a pedestrian on Washington Avenue in La Loche. Officers immediately responded. The pedestrian was transported to hospital by EMS and was later pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 58-year-old man from La Loche. His family has been notified.
The suspect vehicle did not remain at the scene.
Following the investigation, a male teenager from the La Loche detachment area was arrested and charged with failure to remain at a scene of an accident causing death. The accused will be appearing in La Loche Provincial Court on Dec. 29.
The suspect cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
