ESTEVAN — An Estevan woman pleaded guilty to multiple charges in Estevan Provincial Court on Nov. 3.
Krista Mae Grulich pleaded guilty to one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of a prohibited weapon and breaching the conditions of a release order. According to information provided in a previous court appearance, the weapon was brass knuckles.
A charge of trafficking cocaine and multiple counts of violating the terms of a release order were stayed.
Sentencing is scheduled occur on Jan. 19, 2026. Federal prosecutor Kathryn Gilliss noted the Crown consented to Grulich’s release, and resolution to her case would be by a joint submission with a “significant” period of incarceration.
Grulich has been released with standard conditions, plus a non-cash promise of $5,000. She will have to surrender to the Estevan Police Service on Jan. 18, 2026. She had been in custody since last month after she was arrested for violating the terms of her previous release order.
Her co-accused, Jason R. Dyck, has been in custody since early September. He was in court on Nov. 3 and his next appearance is set for Nov. 17.
Background: According to a news release, the Estevan Police Service (EPS) Drug Intelligence Unit arrested Grulich and Dyck on Sept. 4 in connection with a drug trafficking investigation.
Dyck is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and resisting arrest. According to the EPS and court information, he attempted to flee a member of the EPS.
The EPS said a search warrant, authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, was executed at a residence in the 400-block of Third Street. Police seized over $12,000 in cash, the prohibited weapon, and cocaine the EPS said has an estimated street value of $7,000.
The EPS also thanked the public for their assistance in apprehending Dyck.
