REGINA — A 16 year-old male suspect, who cannot be named in keeping with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged in relation to a homicide that occurred in downtown Regina on Nov. 1.
The charges are:
- Second-Degree Murder;
- Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Prohibition Order; and
- Fail to Comply With Conditions of an Undertaking.
In the same case, a 44-year-old man and a 17-year-old female are facing accessory charges
Shortly before 1 a.m. on Nov. 1, police say, they were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of 12th Avenue where they located a 19-year-old male who was the victim of a gunshot wound. EMS declared the male deceased on scene. The name of the victim will not be released at the request of the family.
As a result of this ongoing investigation, 44 year-old Trevor Whitequill is charged with:
- Accessory after the fact to murder;
A 17 year-old female, who cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act is charged with:
- Accessory after the fact to murder;
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; and
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing. This is the 10th homicide in Regina in 2025.
