BARRIER FORD – RCMP are investigating what may be a propane explosion that resulted in serious injuries Sunday.
On Nov. 9, around 12:30 p.m., Rose Valley RCMP, Bjorkdale Fire Department, Archerwill Fire Department and EMS responded to a report of a cabin explosion in the hamlet of Barrier Ford.
RCMP say one adult was located and transported to hospital with serious injuries. Given the small community area, RCMP are not providing any other identifying information for the victim. No other victims were located, say police.
The cabin was severely damaged as a result of the explosion and there was also damage to a cabin next door. Initial investigation indicates propane may have been a factor in the explosion.
Rose Valley RCMP say they thank all first responders for their work on scene, as well as brave members of the public who helped someone in their time of need. The investigation continues.
