LLOYDMINSTER — A Regina man facing drug trafficking and weapons charges has been committed to stand trial at Battleford Court of King’s Bench. A date has yet to be set.
Riley Lawlor, 33, appeared in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 13 and was remanded in custody.
He was arrested by Lloydminster RCMP after a routine traffic stop on Oct. 30. During the stop, police initially observed evidence of unstamped tobacco, which is prohibited under the Excise Act.
A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 13 grams of cocaine, 23 grams of fentanyl, a quantity of Canadian currency, a 410 shotgun with a defaced serial number, and shotgun ammunition.
Also arrested was Tanner McIvor, 20, of Gravelbourg. He faces charges including unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm in a vehicle, and failing to comply with a probation order.
McIvor was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Nov. 17.
