Grey Cup 112 weekend is here, and I can’t help but, be swept up in the excitement and nostalgia. It’s taking me back to our last Grey Cup appearance—right here in Regina—when we had the privilege of winning in our own backyard. That feeling is something truly special and so rare in sports. There’s nothing like celebrating a championship surrounded by your entire fan base that’s been with you every step of the way.
Donnie and I will never forget those days—the cheers, the electric atmosphere, and the memories that we created with so many amazing people. We sat beside John Hufnagel and his wife along with some other Stampeder coaches at the game. The biggest surprise was going into the week with freezing temperature’s hovering around -30 Celsius (not including wind-chill) and then game day up to -1? It was crazy but greatly appreciated. The parade down the Green Mile was very pleasant that night!
Here’s to another epic Grey Cup weekend, and to all the unforgettable moments yet to come! Go Riders!
