REGINA — A 39-year-old man was declared dead Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Regina Correctional Centre.
Corrections staff found the inmate unresponsive on a living unit at approximately 11:04 a.m., according to the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety media release. Staff initiated life-saving measures and called EMS, who declared the man dead at 11:25 a.m.
The RCMP and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service have been notified and are investigating. The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety will also conduct an internal investigation.
Next of kin have been notified.
No foul play is suspected at this time.
