Update: REGINA — Regina police say the scene investigation of a two-vehicle collision at 9th Avenue North and McCarthy Boulevard has been completed, and traffic in the area has returned to normal.
Officers were called to the intersection shortly before 4 p.m. Friday for a report of a crash involving a commercial vehicle and an SUV.
Two people in the SUV were taken to hospital by EMS with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, and only occupant, of the commercial vehicle was also transported to hospital for medical assessment.
Police say the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
The Regina Police Service thanked the public for their patience and co-operation during the response and road restrictions.
Original report: REGINA — Police are asking drivers to avoid the area of 9th Avenue North and McCarthy Boulevard after a two-vehicle collision blocked several surrounding roads Friday.
According to a traffic advisory, Police, EMS and Regina Fire and Protective Services are on scene at the intersection. Roads are closed from McIntosh Street to Courtney Street, and from 7th Avenue North to Rink Avenue, with motorists urged to plan an alternate route.
The advisory said, updates will be provided as they become available, and thanked the public for its understanding and co-operation.
No further details about injuries or the cause of the collision have been released.
