REGINA — Average retail gasoline prices in the city dropped 1.8 cents per litre over the past week, landing at 124.62 cents per litre on Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 82 stations across Regina. The decline contrasts with the national average, which rose 0.8 cents to 134.94 cents per litre.
Prices in Regina remain 20.9 cents per litre lower than the same date one year ago and sit 0.9 cents lower than a month ago. Nationally, prices have increased 4.0 cents per litre in the past month but remain 13.5 cents lower than mid-November 2024.
GasBuddy’s historical data shows wide fluctuations in Regina pump prices on Nov. 17 over the last five years:
145.56 c/L in 2024, 146.76 c/L in 2023, 158.26 c/L in 2022, 141.30 c/L in 2021 and 96.28 c/L in 2020.
Nearby communities are also seeing declines. Saskatoon sits at 122.71 c/L, down 3.3 cents from last week. The Saskatchewan average is 125.19 c/L, down 1.6 cents, while Winnipeg averages 128.18 c/L, down 2.7 cents.
“Canada’s national average price of gasoline was little changed over the last week, with provinces nearly split between rising and falling prices,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
“Prices increased in Nova Scotia, Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Alberta, and Prince Edward Island, while Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland, and New Brunswick saw declines. With oil prices remaining relatively steady near $60 per barrel and seasonal demand easing, further downward pressure on gas prices is possible in the weeks ahead, especially if U.S. refinery challenges continue to subside and no new disruptions emerge, coupled with the completion of seasonal refinery maintenance.”
