SASKATOON — The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association has named two individuals and one organization from different rural and urban communities as the recipients of the 2025 Saskatchewan Recreation Awards.
This year’s recipients include people from rural and urban communities who share a common vision – improving the quality of life for others through parks and recreation.
Farm It Forward from Mossbank was the Community Award winner, Saskatoon’s Ashley George earned the Leadership Excellence Award and Dean Heuchart of Wynyard is the Volunteer Champion for this year.
SPRA President Darcy McLeod said they are thrilled to recognize the recipients and honour their efforts to improve the lives of people in their respective communities.
“These passionate and dedicated people not only lead by example; their actions, their commitment, and genuine care show how powerful parks and recreation is in building healthy, vibrant and resilient communities,” said McLeod.
Each winner was given a $1,000 contribution to support local recreation initiatives.
