SASKATOON — A 34-year-old man who was on Saskatchewan RCMP’s most wanted list remains behind bars. Cory Lee Rushkewich was arrested by the Saskatchewan RCMP Enforcement Response Team (SERT) in September. He has a bail hearing scheduled for Nov. 26.
His original weapons and aggravated assault charges stem from an incident in Rosetown where he is accused of assaulting a man in November 2023. In an exclusive interview with SaskToday, the mother of the victim said he had to be placed in a medically induced coma.
Cory Rushkewich had been released on bail on those charges and failed to appear in court, prompting Saskatchewan RCMP to release his photo and list him on their most wanted list.
Rushkewich’s brother, Randy, was also charged in the incident. He was sentenced in July to 52 days in jail and 12 months of probation.
