ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service has responded to a couple of thefts and a fraud this week.
The EPS received a report Nov. 24 of vandalism and the theft of gas from a business. The matter remains under investigation.
The theft of a television from a local hotel conference area is also being investigated.
A fraud through Facebook is also under investigation. An individual agreed to purchase an item and transferred funds, but the seller has not provided the item. The matter is still under investigation.
Officers and the Estevan Fire Rescue Service responded to a vehicle fire. On arrival, the EPS said the vehicle was found to be overheating but was not on fire. No further assistance from emergency crews was required.
The EPS said it received several reports of a suspicious male in the downtown area. Members attended and spoke with the man, who is known to police, and sent him on his way.
Police responded to a domestic disturbance between an adult and a parent. Police mediated the situation and one of the parties left for the night.
A report was received of an erratic driver. The EPS said no licence plate information was provided by the caller and members were unable to locate the vehicle while patrolling after the complaint.
A traffic stop on a vehicle leaving a bar Nov. 25 resulted in a 30-year-old man from Alberta having his driver’s licence suspended and his vehicle impounded for 3 days after a roadside breath sample returned a result of warn for having a blood alcohol content of at least .04 on an approved screening device.
Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between roommates. An investigation determined that nothing criminal occurred and the matter was mediated by members on scene.
The EPS received an anonymous report that a man was breaching his court-ordered conditions. Members followed up with the complaint and determined that the individual was in compliance.
