PRINCE ALBERT AREA — Prince Albert RCMP are investigating a fatal collision near Prince Albert.
On Nov. 25 at around 6 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP received several reports of a multiple vehicle collision on Highway 3, about five kilometres south of Prince Albert.
RCMP officers immediately responded along with fire services and EMS.The investigation determined that a van and SUV collided before the van hit a third vehicle.
The driver of the van was declared dead at the scene by EMS. He has been identified as a 67-year-old man from Prince Albert. His family has been notified.
The driver of the SUV did not report any injuries to police. The driver of the third vehicle was transported to hospital with injuries described as serious.
Highway 3 was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
