SASKATOON — Saskatoon police arrested a male youth following a weapons investigation early Thirsday morning in Saskatoon.
At around 4 a.m. on Nov. 27, police were called to an apartment in the 800 block of Appleby Drive for a report of bear spray being discharged within a unit and a male armed with a handgun.
When they arrived, officers determined that a confrontation had occurred between persons known to one another resulting in bear spray and an imitation firearm being shot. The pellet struck a woman causing a non-life-threatening injury. The suspects fled prior to police arrival; however, officers located one of the suspects nearby. He was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of an imitation firearm.
As a result, the 16-year-old male youth has been charged with several firearms-related offences.
Police continue to investigate.
