REGINA — The 17th Operation Red Nose road safety campaign will officially begin Friday evening in Saskatchewan.
The service is offered by volunteers in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and the Battlefords.
Volunteer teams will be available to offer safe rides to those who choose a responsible way to get home during the holidays, all in good cheer. The service will be available until Dec. 31.
Since 1984, Operation Red Nose has contributed to making Canadian roads safer while supporting local youth and amateur sports initiatives. Across Canada, more than 2.4 million rides have been provided over the years, thanks to the involvement of 1.7 million volunteers and the generosity of the population. Local host organizations that operate the safe ride service reinvest the donations received in their community.
As the holiday season begins, Operation Red Nose encourages everyone to always plan a safe ride home with care, responsibility and solidarity.
