Retiring soon? New research says people are living 20 years longer than they did in the 1950’s which means retirement nest eggs need to stretch much further than they used too.
Rising product costs and the increasing cost of living in many developed countries have made some retirees question how long their savings will carry them, and if they should be looking at cheaper places to live. The Global Retirement Index has released their annual list of top countries to retire in and, surprisingly, only one North American country made the top 10 list.
The index, in partnership with International Living magazine, looks at things healthcare, housing costs, climate, visas, and overall cost of living to determine which countries make the top 10 list.
