PUNNICHY – A 63-year-old woman has died following a collision involving a train near Semans.
Punnichy RCMP say officers were called at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Dec. 7 to a crash on an off-road section of the rail line.
Emergency crews arrived to find a pick-up truck had been struck by a train.
The driver, who was the lone occupant of the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. RCMP say she was from the Punnichy detachment area.
No injuries were reported among the train’s staff.
A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist and CN Police are assisting with the investigation.
Police say the work remains ongoing and no further details have been released.
