Saskatchewan residents will be able to get their flu shot in the next couple of weeks.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority announced that after a brief delay in the delivery of the vaccine, clinics across the province will receive their vaccines in time for flu shot locations to be opened on October 21st.
Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab said the province ordered 390,000 vaccines for this year.
“We have actually increased out order (since last year), so we feel very comfortable that we will be able to meet the needs this year for anyone who chooses to get the flu vaccine.”
Dr. Shahab said anyone who wants the flu shot will be able to get it.
“We would certainly like people at high risk to get it every year, but certainly others who are healthy but live or work with people at high risk, like health care workers, and long term care staff in personal care homes, they certainly should consider getting it every year.”
While some locations will be used as polling stations for the federal election on October 21st, they will be opened later in the week. A complete list of vaccine clinics is available on the Saskatchewan Health Authority website.
