SASKATOON — Saskatoon police have arrested a tenth person in the death of Timothy Tootoosis. Danaka Delia Stephanee Laplante, 26, was arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with first-degree murder, offering an indignity to human remains, and unlawful confinement.
Laplante appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Nov. 10 and the matter was adjourned to Dec. 11 to give her time to seek legal aid counsel.
Nine others are charged. They include Rodrick Rabbitskin, Shianna-Lee Dangenais, Destini Gardypie, Nakita Tootoosis, Vernon Peequaquat, Emmery Aubichon, Michael McCallum, Michael Landry and Donovan Lemstra.
Tootoosis's body was found in December 2024 when the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit and Tactical Support Unit were executing a search warrant at a home in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood in 1700 block of 22nd West.
