LITTLE RED RIVER – Update, Dec. 18: Jack Sanderson, 34, who was wanted following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Little Red River, was arrested by Prince Albert RCMP on Dec. 16.
On Dec. 16 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Prince Albert RCMP officers attempted a traffic stop on a truck near a business on Sturgeon Lake First Nation. The vehicle did not stop, fleeing into a ditch and colliding with a fence. The driver of the vehicle fled. The investigation determined the driver was wanted on a warrant by police.
RCMP Police Dog Services were engaged to assist and tracked the suspect to a residence on Sturgeon Lake First Nation where he was arrested on his outstanding warrant.
As a result of continued investigation, Jack Sanderson is also charged with:
- one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
- one count, flight from peace officer;
- one count, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000;
- one count, resist/obstruct peace officer;
- two counts, operate a conveyance while prohibited; and
- one count, mischief under $5,000.
Sanderson appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Dec. 17.
Original post, Dec. 12: Prince Albert RCMP are looking for 34-year-old Jack Sanderson following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in the community of Little Red River.
On Dec. 10 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian in the community of Little Red River.
RCMP officers and local EMS responded and located an injured woman. The woman was transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening.
The investigation determined an altercation occurred between the female victim and a man in a pickup truck. The female was injured by the truck when the driver fled the scene.
As a result of the continued investigation, the driver is identified as 34-year-old Jack Sanderson, from Sturgeon Lake First Nation. He has not been located.
Jack Sanderson is charged with:
- one count, aggravated assault;
- one count, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm;
- one count, fail to stop after an accident; and
- two counts, operation of a conveyance while prohibited.
Prince Albert RCMP is asking the public to report any sightings and information on the location of Jack Sanderson.
He is described as:
- Height: 5 ft 9 in
- Weight: 172 lbs
- Eye colour: brown
- Hair colour and style: short black hair
- Other descriptors: geometric design tattoo on his right forearm, barbed wire tattoo on his left arm

Sanderson may be driving an older model, red Dodge pickup truck. His current whereabouts are unknown.
Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate.
