MOOSE JAW — Police have made a significant drug seizure in Moose Jaw.
Members of the Moose Jaw Police Service’s (MJPS) Community Policing Division have concluded an investigation into a 23-year-old man.
On Dec. 12, the MJPS Community Policing Division located the suspect’s vehicle and the suspect at a residence on the east side of Moose Jaw.
A further investigation resulted in the seizure of 467.5 grams of fentanyl, which has an estimated street value of approximately $95,000.
Police also located an imitation firearm in the suspect’s vehicle.
When fentanyl is dealt by drug dealers on the street, it is typically sold in a “point” (0.1 gram). This seizure equates to more than 4,600 “points” removed from the streets that would have been sold.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old man has been charged with:

possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl;

breach of an undertaking;

breach of probation.
The accused made his first appearance in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Dec. 12.
