INDIAN HEAD — A preliminary hearing for Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation Chief Scott Eashappie started Tuesday in Indian Head Circuit Court. He faces financial crimes.
According to a media release by File Hills First Nations Police Service, he was charged in March with money laundering, defrauding Carry the Kettle First Nation treaty land entitlement trust in an amount over $5,000, and theft over $5,000 from the First Nation.
The charges against Eashappie haven’t been proven in court.
