SASKATCHEWAN — The Alberta clipper that lashed out at Saskatchewan on Dec. 17 is still causing problems on the highways, although conditions have improved.
RCMP report that between 4 p.m. Dec. 17 and 7 a.m. Dec. 18, RCMP Divisional Operational Communication Centre received 82 reports of vehicle collisions (of varying nature) and 25 different weather/traffic-related reports all across Saskatchewan. These were reports of tractor-trailer units unable to drive up a hill, icy roads that need to be sanded and vehicles pulled over on the side of the road to let the weather pass.
RCMP add that the numbers don’t reflect possible vehicles stuck or abandoned or collisions RCMP officers happened upon while responding to other calls for service.
According to the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure's Highway Hotline, there is still one riad closure and numerous others that have travel not recommended advisories. Motorists are asked to stay off the roads on many central highways and some highways in the south.

For updates, check the Highway Hotline.
The weather alerts are over, except for a yellow cold warning for the far north.
