This popped countdown of the Twelve Nights of Yule might just compel you to try something to help “re-set” and prepare for the year that lays ahead. Our current lifestyle is nothing short of chaos. Children grow up too quick. Everyone wants things to happen immediately, where are our patience?
Connection at this time of year try doing the 12 nights of Yule to remind you that transformation does not happen in a single moment, but in the quiet space between endings and beginnings.
Night 1 – Mother’s Night
Honour ancestral mothers, grandmothers, and the feminine line. A night of womb-darkness, remembrance, and protection.
Night 2 – Night of the Ancestors
Remember all ancestors, known and unknown. Light a candle and speak names or intentions of gratitude.
Night 3 – Night of Stillness
A night of quiet and rest. Minimal noise, early sleep. The land sleeps deeply now.
Night 4 – Night of the Hearth
Bless the home. Tend the hearth or a candle. Warm food, comfort, and safety are honoured.
Night 5 – Night of Evergreens
Bring pine, fir, cedar, holly, or ivy into the home. Evergreens symbolise endurance and protection.
Night 6 – Night of Release
Let go of what no longer serves you. Write it down and release it safely to flame or breath.
Night 7 – Night of Dreams
Dreams are said to be powerful on this night. Keep a journal beside your bed.
Night 8 – Night of Blessings
Offer blessings to yourself, loved ones, and your home. Gentle words and anointing oils are traditional.
Night 9 – Night of Hope
The light is returning. Focus on hope, healing, and what you wish to grow.
Night 10 – Night of Craft & Creation
Create something by hand — a charm, knot, candle, or written intention.
Night 11 – Night of Gratitude
Give thanks for the year that has passed and the lessons it brought.
Night 12 – Night of Fate / New Year’s Night
Stand at the threshold of the new year. Set intentions and welcome the unfolding year ahead.
