REGINA — The public is invited to celebrate the start of 2026 at Government House while it is all decked out for the holiday season.
Bernadette and Rich McIntyre will host their first New Year’s Day Levee as Saskatchewan's Vice-Regal Couple on Thursday, Jan. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Government House at 4607 Dewdney Ave.
At this special annual event, everyone is welcome to exchange greetings and snap a photo with Their Honours.
The New Year’s Day levee is free of charge with complimentary entertainment and festive beverages and appetizers. Musical performers featured throughout the house include Brian Sklar and the Old Time All Stars Band, members of the Regina Mandolin Orchestra, harpist Glenna Stewart, and pianist Jim Gallagher. There will be a children’s craft room as well.
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor says the province's Head of State hosting a New Year’s Day Levee is a tradition in Saskatchewan that stretches all the way back to 1884.
No registration is necessary. Free parking is available just east of Government House off Dewdney Avenue. More information is available on the LGO website at https://ltgov.sk.ca/new-years-day-celebration
