REGINA — Average retail gasoline prices in Regina fell 2.1 cents per litre over the past week, settling at 118.67 c/L as of Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 82 gas outlets in the city.
The local decline outpaced the national average, which slipped 0.7 c/L over the same period to 122.10 c/L.
Compared to a year ago, Regina drivers are paying significantly less at the pump. Prices are down 26.9 c/L from Dec. 29, 2024, and 8.3 c/L lower than one month ago.
GasBuddy historical data shows Regina fuel prices on Dec. 29 have varied widely over the past five years, ranging from a high of 145.54 c/L in 2024 to a low of 102.04 c/L in 2020.
“For the fifth straight week, the national average price of gasoline in Canada has edged lower, though only modestly,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. “With refineries running at seasonally strong output and gasoline inventories building, downward pressure may begin to fade as winter progresses, with prices likely bottoming out in the weeks ahead before gradually rising again heading into spring.”
