Premier Scott Moe said Thursday when announcing the province’s plan to re-open that one thing he hadn’t done is see his son in six weeks and that he would like to sit down with him over a barbecued steak. That may happen this weekend.
Moe and Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab say you can now converge in small gatherings of less than 10 people, as long as you keep your contacts limited to certain households and people and that you don’t meet “three new people per day”.
Shahab is saying:
- Families and friends must stay consistent
- Don’t visit different family and friends each day
- There must be no more than 1o people
- Maintain physical distancing
- Consider if anyone has chronic health conditions that could put them at risk
Shahab says it is imperative these guidelines are adhered to because one case of COVID-19 can quickly turn into thousands if proper practices are not followed.
Going into Friday, there were 331 cases of COVID19 in Saskatchewan. 57 of those are considered active.
