REGINA — A man accused of posing as a police officer is set to appear for a preliminary hearing in April in Regina Provincial Court.
Nahman Cole, 45, is charged with robbery and impersonating a police officer. The hearing for Cole will determine if there is enough evidence for him to stand trial. He elected to be tried by judge and jury in Court of King's Bench.
According to Regina Police Service, two people were arrested in June following an incident on June 20 in Regina’s Industrial Park neighbourhood, in the 1800 block of Broad Street. Police say that around 6 p.m., two people entered a business where Cole claimed to be a police officer. He and his co-accused, Karli Weiss-Delorme, then reportedly threatened the victim before stealing a cellphone and an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing the scene.
Cole remains in custody on unrelated charges, including theft, fraud, and failing to comply with a court order.
Weiss-Delorme, 30, isn’t in custody and is scheduled to return to court in January.
