PELICAN NARROWS — Two people have been charged by Pelican Narrows RCMP after methamphetamine, a firearm, and a machete were seized at a home as part of an aggravated assault investigation.
On Dec. 23, Pelican Narrows RCMP received a report of a serious assault at a residence on Ballantyne Street in Pelican Narrows.
Police say their investigation determined a male locked a female in a room at the residence. The male later entered the room with a firearm. An interaction occurred between the male and female, and the female was injured. No shots were fired. The female was taken to a medical clinic with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature. Pelican Narrows RCMP arrested the male at the residence.
As part of the assault investigation, on Dec. 24, Pelican Narrows RCMP executed a search warrant at the residence. While there, say police, officers located and seized approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine, ammunition, a sawed-off firearm, additional firearm parts, a machete, and a sum of cash. Two females and a male were arrested at the residence.
A male and female were later released without charges. A man and woman were arrested and now face charges.
