Happy New Year!
2026 is a very special year for 620 CKRM. The radio station started in Moose Jaw on July 27th, 1926 as 665 CJRM by Manitoba’s J. Richardson Grain Company. In 1928, CJRM moved to 880AM on the dial, moved to Regina in 1933, and bounced between 960AM and 540AM for the next 8 years. In 1940 CJRM became CKRM and moved to the 980AM frequency in 1941. The final move, 980 to 620AM, occurred in 2001. 100 years of personalities, 100 years of music, 100 years of grain prices, 100 years of news stories, and 100 years dedicated to Saskatchewan.
To kick off the milestone year, we played the top 100 greatest country songs in Canada and the United States from the past 100 years on January 1st. With the help of CKRM listeners, this is how our list looked.
