Every year AutoTrader releases a list of the most searched for vehicles in its database coupled with which vehicles were sold the most. If you’ve noticed a high number of pickup trucks on the roads this year, you’re not alone. Truck searches and truck sales lead the way in Saskatchewan and across Canada for 2025.
When it came to vehicle ownership, the Ford F-150 remained dominate. It not only topped the list of the most searched for vehicles, it also was the number one vehicle Canadians were buying from AutoTrader. The F-150 was the most searched for vehicle in Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, British Columbia, Ontario, and the Maritimes. The Honda Civic was the most searched for vehicle in Quebec.
Out of the top 10 vehicle searches in Saskatchewan, half of them were for pickup trucks while cars were almost non-existent on the list. Overall in Canada, SUV’s made up 42% of vehicle searches and sports cars still maintained popularity amongst prospective buyers, according to AutoTrader. Electric Vehicles (EV’s) made up nine per cent of searches, which is up from the previous year by eight per cent. However, interest overall in EV’s remained somewhat low across the platform with non-EV owners showing less interest in purchasing a car compared to last year.
