REGINA — A judicial bench warrant has been issued for Tyler Nathan Desnomie after he failed to appear in Regina Provincial Court on numerous weapons offences. Desnomie, 39, had been scheduled to appear on Dec. 30, 2025.
His charges stem from an incident in May when Regina police responded to a weapons-related disturbance in the city's Heritage neighbourhood, and arrested two people, seizing multiple firearms.
Around 5:55 a.m. on May 31, 2025, officers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Toronto Street after a report that a man was causing a disturbance and was believed to be armed with a firearm. When they arrived, they located a woman and a man matching the suspect description outside the home.
The woman, identified as 34-year-old Melissa Jean Belanger, was taken into custody without incident. Desnomie, however, initially ignored police commands and retreated inside the home before later exiting and being arrested.
A search of the home uncovered multiple firearms and ammunition.
Desnomie faces several charges, including pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded or restricted firearm, and four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
In June, Belanger was sentenced on a charge of failing to appear in court. A stay of proceedings was entered on charges of possession of a loaded or restricted firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm.
