The Club announced on Wednesday the signing of forward Mahlon Wiley to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement, locking in another piece of the organization’s long-term vision.
Pats assistant general manager Tristan Frei says Wiley’s steady growth made the decision an easy one.
“We’re really happy with Mahlon’s progress throughout his time with the Pat Canadians,” Frei said. “He is a forward with size, plays hard with a physical presence and will be a good add to our lineup in the future.”
Regina selected Wiley in the fourth round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft and now officially commits to the Pats organization, joining a growing group of young players viewed as part of the club’s future core.
The 15-year-old Yorkton native is currently skating with the Regina Pat Canadians U18 AAA program during the 2025-26 season. Through 23 games, Wiley has produced 11 points (five goals, six assists) while continuing to adjust to the pace and physicality of the U18 level.
Offensive production has followed Wiley throughout his development. During the 2024-25 season, he enjoyed a breakout year with the Sask East Oilers U15 AA, leading the team in goals, assists and points with 41 points (22 goals, 19 assists) in 24 games.
At 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds, Wiley has already shown he can hold his own against older competition. Last season, the left-shot forward earned a seven-game call-up to the Yorkton Maulers U18 AAA, collecting four points while gaining valuable experience higher up the ladder.
Wiley’s resume also includes provincial representation, as he suited up for Team Saskatchewan at the 2025 WHL Cup in Red Deer, showcasing his game against many of the top players in his age group across the country.
With size, skill and a physical edge, Wiley now takes the next step in his path toward the WHL—one that officially runs through Regina.
