SASKATOON — Three people were arrested after a police investigation that ended in a New Year’s Day search at a home in the city’s Kelsey-Woodlawn neighbourhood.
According to Saskatoon Police Service (SPS), members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, supported by the Tactical Support Unit and patrol officers, executed a search warrant on Jan. 1 at a home in the 1300 block of Idylwyld Drive North. The enforcement action was part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and firearms activity.
Inside the home, officers arrested a 41-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman. Police say several items were seized during the search, including a loaded sawed-off Ruger .22 calibre rifle, 98.37 grams of methamphetamine, 43.43 grams of crack cocaine, 30.12 grams of cocaine, 12.39 grams of fentanyl, 12 hydromorphone capsules, and $436 in cash.
Investigators have laid 22 charges against the man and the woman in connection with drug trafficking, firearms offences, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
A third person, a 50-year-old man who was also inside the home at the time of the search, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property.
